Class News 9.2.2024

What a brilliant week we have had in year 5 to finish Spring term 1! We have completely finished our description on our animals and the children did a brilliant job of using parenthesis, personification, metaphors and similes. We cannot wait to read and mark their finished piece! In Spring 2, we will be moving onto our new topic the Spectacular Sahara!

In maths, we will be continuing our work on fractions after half term. We really encourage your children to go onto Times Table Rockstars at home to help with their quick recall skills of their multiplication and division facts.

We have completed our science work on space, the children were very interested in our solar system! We even got to see what the Hubble Telescope caught on our birthdays! Next term we will be moving onto the life cycle of humans, plants and different animals.

We have been lucky to be able to perform Taiko this term and the children have been fantastic! After half term, we will be practising some more and even composing our own music to add to the piece we have learnt. Congratulations to our choir members that performed at the Town Hall, we are super proud of you!

Please remind your children to complete their homework and return on a Monday. If they have lost the printed version, the homework is always displayed on the Year 5 Homework page.
