Happy Chinese New Year!
This week in Reception we have had so much fun learning about the Celebration of Chinese New Year.
We learnt the Traditional Chinese tale of The Great Race and ordered the animals from the story, learning about ordinal vocabulary.
On Monday afternoon, we made Chinese lanterns to decorate our classroom. We used the traditional red colour for Chinese New Year and decorated them with Chinese symbols.
On Tuesday we enjoyed tasting some Chinese food, we tried prawn crackers, rice, noodles and soy sauce.
Please join us for a ‘Next Steps in Learning’ meeting on Wednesday 1st February at 9am (as you drop the children off). During the meeting we will discuss the next steps of the children’s reading journey. We look forward to seeing you all there!
Congratulations to our pupils of the week this week. In Sunshine class Layla is the Pupil of the Week for trying her very best and in Rainbow class Maya is the Pupil of the Week for reading at home. Keep it up!
