What a busy week! This is what we have been doing in Reception…

On Monday, we came to school wearing odd socks! The theme for Anti-bullying week this year is REACH OUT. We talked lots about how we should be kind to everyone and who we go to if we need help. We know we are all different but special in our own way!

It is also National Nursery Rhyme Week! We have been singing our favourite nursery rhymes and some of us even performed solos! We like Wind the Bobbin Up, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and 1,2,3,4,5 Once I caught a fish alive. What nursery rhymes do you like singing at home?

Such a busy week because it is also Geography Awareness Week! When thinking about the world around us, we talked this week about how we can help to look after the environment. We watched a video with some tips and made posters to display around school with top tips to look after our school environment and our local area! Ada’s poster was all about not dropping litter on the beach, Mila’s poster was about picking up dog mess and Lincoln’s poster reminded us to recycle. Don’t forget to turn the lights off when you leave a room and the tap off when you clean your teeth!

Children in Need – We finished our week wearing spotty clothes for Children In Need and raising money and awareness for such a good cause.

This week, our PUPIL OF THE WEEK special certificate goes to Nella from the Rainbow’s class and Ada from the Sunshine’s class. Well done for your fantastic work this week girls, we are so proud of you!

A big congratulations to all of our children who received reading and phonics certificates this week! Keep practising, you are superstars.

This week, we wish a happy birthday to Joseph, Reuben and to Mrs Reevell! We hope you all had a lovely day!
