It has been another lovely busy week in Reception.

Music – On Monday it was our last music session with Mrs Councell. We learnt a new song about a little mousey in his housey and played singing games with the stretchy fabric! Lots of smiles and singing!

Maths – This week we have been getting ready for Year 1 by practising our numberbonds up to 10. To help your child prepare for Year, we recommend they practise writing numbers and looking at numberbonds to 10. Numberblocks and White Rose Maths are good resources to look at.

PE – This week in PE we were working with partners to mirror movements. Emily, our gymnastics coach, was very impressed with how well we worked together.

Phonics – We continued to learn new sounds in our groups and apply them when we are reading and writing. To help your child be Year 1 ready, practise reading and writing the phonic sounds in their homework books. Help your child to form the letters correctly.

Food tasting – After talking about making healthy choices last week, we tried some mango, pineapple and kiwi. Yummy!

Celebration of Learning Assembly – WOW! We are so proud of our Reception children and how wonderful they were in our Celebration Assembly. We shared what we have liked doing in Reception this year and what we are proud of. We loved looking at the photographs from Saltburn and sharing our amazing singing with you!

Transition to our new classes – We enjoyed spending the afternoon on Thursday with our new teachers and friends. We were so proud of the children and how well they settled in!

PUPIL OF THE WEEK – A big WELL DONE to our Pupils of the week this week- Ada from the Sunshine group and Oliver from the Rainbow group!
