We have had another super week in Reception this week! Take a look below at what we have been getting up to…

This week is Art Week with resources from Sky Arts and we have been developing our drawing skills, creating lines and drawing self portraits. We experimented with paint portraits too!

Gymnastics – We have been enjoying our gymnastic sessions with Emily this half term. This week we were using the large equipment for climbing, balancing and jumping. It was all very new to the children but Mrs Lach, Mrs Huggins and Mrs Bulman were so proud of everyone for having a go!

PUPIL OF THE WEEK – A big WELL DONE to our Pupils of the week this week- Frankie John from the Sunshine group and Leyton from the Rainbow group!

Next week is our Healthy School Week – The government recommend that children and young people aged 5 to 18 should:

  • aim for an average of at least 60 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity a day across the week (30 minutes in school and 30 minutes out of school)
  • take part in a variety of types and intensities of physical activity across the week to develop movement skills, muscles and bones
  • reduce the time spent sitting or lying down and break up long periods of not moving with some activity. Aim to spread activity throughout the day. All activities should make you breathe faster and feel warmer

There are so many benefits of physical activity for your child’s physical and mental health and wellbeing – so lets all get ACTIVE and have some fun!
