Week 4- Summer 2

A very hot and sunny week this week. Monday we started with practising Shakespeare Rocks for one of the final times before we perform it for you all! The children have been absolutely incredible and they have put on an amazing show so far. We continued with our science topic, light, and looked at the eye in detail. We looked at the different parts of the eye and how it enables us to see.

Tuesday, some of the children went on a cricket festival and were absolutely amazing! They enjoyed the activities thoroughly and learnt all the aspects of playing a game of cricket. Those who stayed in school looked into tax and income when they get a job and how the process works.

Throughout the week, we have completed many History lessons regarding crime and punishment throughout the Georgian and Victorian period. They thought about the different punishments that would have been used and why they were used throughout this time. We also compared the 20th century police force to the Victorian police force and how they would have dealt with different crimes.

We are really proud of how resilient the children have been throughout this week during this extremely hot weather. If this weather continues into next week, please get your child to bring in a cap or a summer hat for when they are outside, ensure they are wearing sun cream and that they have a bottle of water with them that they can refill throughout the day.

Congratulations to our pupils of the week!

In 2BV this week Dayton achieved pupil of the week for his exceptional effort in his history lessons and putting a smile on everyone’s face.

In 2KT this week Luna achieved pupil of the week for super participation and hard work at the cricket festival.

Happy birthday to Rumaysaa and Subhan this week, we hope you both have a wonderful birthday! 🙂
