Spring 1- Week 4

What a busy week we have had!

We have started to plan our new piece of writing which will be two short diaries written from the perspective of Charles Darwin and his assistant Syms Covington. They have worked really hard to create a bank of words and phrases that each individual may have said/felt when arriving at the Galapagos Islands. In maths, we have focused on algebra and the mathematical terms substitution and expression. Although this is a new maths topic, the children are performing really well. To help assist with this please continue to ask your children to access 16 weeks till SATS as it gives them plenty of advice on strategies to use and how to prepare for their exams. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCm5aAJrqls

In topic, we have been researching the physical geography behind the Galapagos islands to create a leaflet to inform people of the geology and scientific discoveries behind the isles.

Please return the letters for the visit to Middlesbrough Town Hall and the slip to say if you will be attending our calculation event 🙂

Enjoy your weekend! 🙂
