In Maths, we have looked at hourly wages for different jobs and identified how this may vary depending on the days of the week the person works. We used hourly wages to calculate an annual salary and deduct tax to further our understanding of monthly and annual incomes.
During Stepping Up Together, we discussed the importance of ‘listening’ during team games. The children discovered how hard listening can be as a skill when they are excited for a team challenge – ask your child how their team got on.
On Tuesday, Group 1 and 2 finished their final session of Forest School and brought home their handmade wooden cookie medal – we hope you were impressed with their artistic and woodwork skills. Group 3 and 4 will begin on Tuesday, please remember to bring suitable clothing and footwear with you for the sessions, sun cream and hats would also be advised due to the glorious weather we are having 🙂
In Art, we completed our William Morris inspired wallpaper using watercolours and began discovering the world of Pop Art. Today, we completed an Andy Warhol inspired piece based on donuts – yum yum!
Celebrations
A HUGE well done to the girls who represented the school in cricket on Thursday and won nearly all matches – a great achievement indeed, we are extremely proud of your teamwork 🙂
Pupils of the week are Ella for her enthusiasm singing the Shakespeare Rocks songs and ensuring everyone joins in and Deacon for showing commitment to Shakespeare Rocks.
Shakespeare Rocks!
Each day this week we have continued to rehearse Shakespeare Rocks, our target this week was to learn the lyrics to our songs – I am sure you have already heard so many of them at home! Your children are working extremely hard and you will be very proud when you get to see their final production.
Your child will be coming home with a letter today about their end of school year performance. The date of the performance will be Thursday 6th July. The children are able to showcase their talent over two performances. The first showing will be at 10am and the second at 2pm, we ask for the showing at 2pm to have no children under the age of three attending. Each child can be given two tickets for their parent/carer to attend, due to fire regulations we are not able to increase this number at this time. Please could you complete the slip attached to the letter you receive and return to school on Monday so we can start to distribute tickets.
