In our learning this week, we have used our knowledge of Hamlet to discuss whether his character is a tragic hero or a crazed murderer. This sparked much discussion in our classes which resulted in children changing their minds all week due to the different arguments (supported with evidence) that their peers shared.
Next week, the children will be planning their written discussion. It is important during this piece of writing that they remain balanced and validate both viewpoints. Please discuss his character at home to support your child’s argument and evidence for a tragic hero and a crazed murderer.

Science was taken to the computers this week as the children wrote a classification key on Purple Mash. They needed to classify a range of daffodils – it was fascinating to discover the many different types available. The children classified them in partners using their petals, corona and colours. The also applied the language thin, narrow, wide-open and closed to describe these visual characteristics.
