This week has been a busy week of perfecting our performance for Shakespeare Rocks. On Monday, we were fortunate to have a visit from Mr Tuffnall (a school governor with huge talent for theatre); he helped further the children’s confidence in their roles and gave us all amazing tips on positioning and smiling while singing and acting. We truly appreciated all the support from family and friends of the pupils who attended our performance on Thursday, and we think we can all agree the hard work and determination to succeed paid off. Your children were confident, loud, dramatic and made themselves proud within each performance they completed. They managed to get better and better each time – well done year 6!! 😀
We attended a virtual event with an author A.F.Steadman and discovered her novels are becoming movies. We had a go at designing a unicorn to represent our personalities for the next adventure story, and some of these have been entered in for a competition to win one of her books – fingers crossed!
Today, the children who had completed their homework were fortunate enough to attend a session of Laser Tag – I am sure they have all arrived home eager to tell you how their team got on – smiles, fun and laughter was had by all those involved. Congratulations year 6 for working hard this year, both at school and at home – the hard work paid off!
Finally just to remind you all about next week, it is transition week. All children are in school on Monday and need to be wearing their school P.E kit please. We will remind the children on Monday what days they are on Transition. Please remember it is your responsibility to get your child to their Secondary School on the correct day at the correct time wearing their school uniform.
Please remember not to publish any photographs onto social media, thank you.
We would like to wish Oliver and Inayah a wonderful 11th birthday. We hope you had fun celebrating your special day and we thank you both for bringing in cake to celebrate with your friends at school.
Aaron is pupil of the week in 2KT for his superb performance as William Shakespeare.
Sofia is pupil of the week in 2DJ for her superb confidence and performance in the show.
A huge well done to all the children, you could have all been our pupils of the week, this week – you were all outstanding! We look forward to showing you just how great you were 🙂
