Nursery 14.11.25

I am so proud of how respectful the children in nursery have been this week. We listened to a story about peace and we found out about Remembrance Day. To help us remember, we made poppies using different materials inside and outdoors, and we painted poppy pictures.

It has been ‘World Nursery Rhyme Week’ too this week. So we have been singing more nursery rhymes and learning about rhyming words. We found out fox rhymes with box, moon rhymes with spoon and snake rhymes with cake! Can you think of any more rhyming words?

‘Nursery rhymes are extremely valuable to support early language and communication development, build confidence and prepare children for reading and writing as they get older.’ From the National Literacy Trust.

This years nursery rhymes are… Sing a Song of Sixpence, Humpty Dumpty, When I Was One (I played the Drum), I Hear Thunder and Two Little Dickie Birds. Enjoy singing along.

Children in Need

Thank you to everyone who donated towards our collection for Children in Need. We had a fantastic day decorating colourful biscuits and taking part in lots of Pudsey activities!

We are working on listening and engaging. See the parent support page for some lovely ideas on how to support your child with this.

Story of the Week

We wondered what the word ‘peace’ means this week and read a lovely book by Todd Parr to help us find out. We talked about a lot of the pictures and how we can help bring peace to the world.

Nursery Pupil of the Week

This week has been another lovely, busy week in nursery and we would like to give our Pupil of the Week certificate to Francesca for trying hard to be independent this week. Well done!
