This week, the nursery have been learning about ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’. linking with our Minibeast topic. They listened to the story and learned about the life cycle. They developed their fine motor skills by connecting paper circles together with split pins to create caterpillars and added small pieces of tissue paper onto butterfly templates. They created sponge prints of caterpillars too. They were able to make different marks on butterflies with felt tips, creating their own patterns. In maths. they learned about capacity – ‘full and empty’, filling different sized cups in the water area. At the end of this week, the children enjoyed being dressed up in bright colours ‘retro style’ for Red Nose Day. We started the session with a mini disco to 80s music.
