Autumn 1- Week 2

Year 6 have worked hard this week. They have taken on their Year 6 responsibilities across school and staff have commented on their excellent attitudes and maturity around school. In English, we are focusing on our place value of punctuation and grammar. They are working really hard on their understanding of common, proper, partitive and collective nouns.

In maths, we have completed our first topic of place value and the children will be doing their end of unit assessment next week. They have worked exceptionally hard and need to keep it up!

Our guided reading session this week was on the evacuation of children during WW2. Please remind your child to access Reading Plus at home to help improve their comprehension skills, this will help them when it comes to their SATs next year 🙂

There is a Reading Plus competition beginning the 15th of September. The school with the highest number of reading lessons complete by the 2nd of November will receive a £150 voucher for us to spend!! How amazing!!!
