Autumn 1- Week 4

We have had another amazing week in Year 6! We have continued our work in Place Value of Punctuation and Grammar lessons and the children are fully engaged and their knowledge is improving weekly. Within maths this week we have focused on factors, multiples, prime numbers and squared numbers. They are putting in a lot of effort into their lessons and are working incredibly hard. Please ensure your child is accessing times table rockstars to help solidify their understanding.

In History we have continued our work on WW2 and specifically researched about the RAF and the Luftwaffe. The children investigated and discussed historical moments within WW2 that occurred closer to home in Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Sunderland and Northumberland. Within our guided reading sessions this week we looked at Harry Potter character descriptions and play scripts. The children practised reading aloud using the 6Ps (Passion, Pace, Punctuation, Power, Pause, and Pitch). Their acting was great and there are definitely some children who should be considered for acting in the future!

We hope you all have a great weekend! 🙂

Congratulations to our pupils of the week!
