In English this week we have been focusing on different types of nouns such as proper, common, collective, partitive and abstract. The children have been working hard on identifying them in a sentence, recognising the difference between them and noticing the rules behind them.

In maths, we have finished our first topic of place value. The children will be sent home with a information sheet to tell you all about KIRF and what their Key Instant Recall Facts should be and how to support your child further at home. This topic focuses on the children being able to count in powers of 10, forwards and backwards with numbers to 10 million.

In science this week we have started our labelling of the human organs. We focused on the brain, heart, stomach, skin, intestines, lungs and liver and we will be focusing on the rest next week. We looked at their functions and what they do for us.

Congratulations to our pupils of the week this week: Leon for being well-mannered and polite to all staff and students and Khadija for showing attentive listening to support her engagement in all lessons

Our attendance champions this week were Lennox for being in school and on time everyday and Khadija for improved punctuality this week.
