Nursery 26.9.25

Our topic is… Me and My Family

The children are starting to learn our nursery routines and we are very proud of them, especially the children who have just turned 3! This half term we are learning all about ‘Me and My Family.’ So we started by looking at our faces in the mirror. We talked about what our eyes, nose, mouth and ears are for. In phonics, we were looking at environmental sounds and we all went on a listening walk around school! We listened very carefully to the different voices and interesting sounds we could hear. I wonder what noises you hear on the way home from nursery?

We are working on listening to instructions and tidying away when we have finished playing with a toy. We say, “Choose it, Use it, Put it away!”

Autumn Treasure Hunt -This weekend, if you are out and about, can you collect some Autumn treasures to bring to nursery to explore and make crafts with. It could be nice yellow, orange or red leaves, conkers or acorns or any other interesting autumn treasures you find. Please put them in the treasures bag and return it back to school on Monday 29th September! If you have any nice photos to share of your walk, send them to contact@newhambridge.org.uk

Story of the Week:

Our story this week has been ‘The Colour Monster,’ by Anna Llenas. In the story, the monster’s feelings are all mixed up. The little girl helps him by identifying the different feelings and connecting them with a colour. If your little one is struggling with big emotions, it might be a good story to share at home too. I’ve put a lovely version below. 🙂

Nursery Pupil of the Week

We are so proud of all our nursery children. This week, we would like to give our Pupil of the Week certificate to… Lenny for coming into nursery with a smile on his face everyday! It really has made us smile too! 🙂

Happy Birthday Nolan. We hope you had a great day.
