KS1 Class News: 20.01.2023

What wonderful learning we have completed this week in KS1!

LAND AHOY!

In Mr Griffiths’ class this week, we have worked our socks off in Maths where we have learnt how to solve column subtraction problems. In Design and Technology we imagined we were sailors and have researched, planned and made hard tack biscuits inspired by our topic Land Ahoy. We then evaluated our baking and used this learning to plan and write a set of instructions in English for how to make a hardtack biscuit.

In Miss Severs’ and Miss Stainthorpe’s classes, we have been exploring the story ‘Lost and Found’. The children have worked extremely hard to learn how to use the conjunction and in their sentences. In History we have delved deeper into our topic and sequenced the important events of Captain James Cook’s life on a timeline. Our Maths work has also been phenomenal as we have explored 3D shapes and we are trying our best to remember their names.
