KS1 Class News 01.03.24

The children have had a fantastic week this week!

1TS & 1HL have been using our senses and exciting adjectives to describe a setting of The Great Fire of London in Writing. In Maths, we have been exploring doubles. We have been making doubles practically and recording the number sentences in our books.

1MG have been working on our editing skills within a piece of work. In maths, we have been exploring multiplication and division within our 2, 5 and 10 times table and applying this to different types of problems.

KS1 have been exploring the events of The Great Fire of London and places them in chronological order on a timeline. We have learned why the fire spread so quickly and used our Geography skills to identify this on a map. We then used hot and cool colours to shade this on our own map.

Reading is Magic!

Next week is our ‘Reading is Magic’ week to celebrate World Book Day. The school has been decorated and we are looking forward to the children experiencing a number of fun, magical activities throughout the week.

On Thursday we are holding a potato competition! The children and staff will decorate a potato as their favourite character from a story. Good luck to everyone who is taking part.

Below is the link to access the Family Reading Quiz for you to access at home. Good luck to everyone who is participating!
