KS1 Class News 12.04.24

In English, we have been reading ‘Where the Wild Things Are’. We have explored the characters and vocabulary and sequenced the events in the correct order. We are preparing to write our own retell of the story.

In Maths, 1TS and 1HL have been applying our knowledge of Place Value to numbers to 50. We have partitioned numbers to 50 into tens and ones, using practical equipment to support our understanding. We have been counting forwards and backwards within 50 and completing missing number tracks.

We have launched our new ‘Amazing Animals’ topic this week. We enjoyed listening to weird and wonderful animals facts and we sketched our favourite animal. We are currently growing our own butterflies in 1TS and 1HL. We have explored the life cycle and will be observing how the caterpillars change over time. 1MG now have their very own wormery and have been observing tadpoles as they change and grow.
