Key Stage 1 weekly news 8.12.23

This week 1HL and 1TS have been working hard in maths using the part, part, whole model to solve subtraction problems. In science, we have continued to look at materials and identify different materials toys are make out of and their properties.

This week in 1MG we have focused on addition and subtraction in maths, crossing over into the next tens bracket. In English, we have continued to look at our story ‘Brown paper bear’.

Pupil of the Week

1HL – Pupil of the week in 1HL is River for trying so hard with his phonics.

1TS – Pupil of the week in 1TS Jack for making brilliant progress with his reading and writing.

1MG – Pupil of the week in 1MG Ronnie for having lovely manners and trying her best.

Birthdays

A busy week for birthdays in KS1 this week! A big happy birthday to Edward, Harriet, Oaklyn and Leven who all celebrate their special day this week.

Reminder

We have our visit to Preston Park Museum on Tuesday. Please make sure all consent forms have been returned!

We will be performing our Christmas show ‘Woops-a-daisy Angel’ for parents on Thursday and Friday. The children have done a fantastic job learning lines and songs. We are sure you will love it!

Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child is wearing the correct PE kit (please see the uniform policy) and for their own safety, that they are not wearing earrings on our PE days.
