Year 3/4 Class News – 17/11/23

Well done to all of Year 3 and 4 this week who have worked extremely hard completing a variety of assessments this week! As teachers we have been super impressed with your attitude 🙂

A huge congratulations to our Year 4 swimmers who have shown super determination and resilience these last 2 weeks in their swimming lessons. Well done!

Our Year 3 and remaining Year 4 children have designed, made and applied their Science knowledge of electrical circuits to create a night light for a young child. The final products were fantastic!

This week in school we have celebrated Geography week. We have been creative and used a vast array of materials to show the 4 layers of the Earth: the crust, mantle, outer core and inner core linked to our topic Rocks, Relics and Rumbles. To end the week we participated in some exciting field work. We chose a place in school to give directions for another class to reach. To do this we generated our own riddles and sketch maps to help the other classes find our secret hiding place.

From Monday 20th November weekly spellings and times table quizzes will commence as usual.

Please check the homework page from Monday for more information.

Notices & Dates

  • PE is now on a Wednesday.
    • Please come to school in the correct P.E. kit (plain black shorts/leggings/joggers, plain white t-shirt, black trainers/plimsols and a red school jumper/cardigan).

IMPORTANT

To celebrate World Book day in March ’24, we’ll be holding a week of activities around the theme ‘Reading is magic’.  To help us to celebrate in school, we’d welcome any donations of Halloween decorations you may have from this year.  There will also be a dressing up day, so if you have witch/wizard/Harry Potter costumes, please keep them to use during this week.  If you have any decorations we could use, please send them into school after half term, from Tuesday 7th November.  More information about our reading week will be shared in the new year.  Thank you for your continued support.
