Class News in Y3/4 – 27/10/23

Super, super busy last week in our Gods and Mortals Topic. A fabulous Wednesday topic day had everyone writing the Greek alphabet, creating Greek vases, cooking and tasting a variety of foods and enjoying a mini Olympics.

In English we wrote a letter to Mrs Hewitt-Best asking for the return of Golden Time. The children were extremely persuasive in their ideas and published their work with well set out letters. We continued looking at addition and subtraction in Maths while in History we considered how important the Ancient Greeks had been to the development of the modern world.

In the new half term will will be learning about ‘Rocks, Relics and Rumbles’ a super new topic with lots of marvelous geographical connections. Please remember if you are in swimming group 2 to bring your swim kit with you on the first day back, Tuesday 7th November.

Have a happy holiday week from all the staff in Y3/4.

IMPORTANT To celebrate World Book day in March ’24, we’ll be holding a week of activities around the theme ‘Reading is magic’.  To help us to celebrate in school, we’d welcome any donations of Halloween decorations you may have from this year.  There will also be a dressing up day, so if you have witch/wizard/Harry Potter costumes, please keep them to use during this week.  If you have any decorations we could use, please send them into school after half term, from Tuesday 7th November.  More information about our reading week will be shared in the new year.  Thank you for your continued support.
