Year 3 & 4 News 8/12/23

What a fun week in Y3/4! We have had a fantastic disco with super dancing, sparkling clothes and The Birdy Song with Mrs Prest. Thank you to all our parents who came to the ‘Come and Read’ sessions on Wednesday for the Y3s and Thursday for the Y4s. On Friday all the children, who were in school, took home their Termly Progress Report for the Autumn term.

This week in English we have continued our learning about non-chronological reports with a detailed look at the features and sentences types used. The children did some research on volcanoes that will help them to add interesting facts and statistics. During Maths the children have worked hard on the four operations and learning their times tables. As always we finished the week with a times table test and those scores, along with spelling scores and number of reads this week, can be found in your child’s reading record. Homework as been coming into every class – looking good so far!

Next week is an important week for the Y4s with their ‘Carols around the Tree’ performance after school on Thursday. We hope you will be able to come and join us for some fabulous Christmas singing.
