Another busy week in Reception this week! Thank you to all the parents who came to cheer the children on during Sports Day. They have been working so hard practicing over the past few weeks, we are super proud of their efforts!

Reception Early Learning Goals
The Early Learning Goals are not used as a curriculum or in anyway to limit the wide variety of rich experiences that are crucial to child development. The ELGs support us to make holistic, best-fit judgement about a child’s development at the end of EYFS and their readiness for Year 1. Our ELGs are set out below:

Key Notices
Dates for your Diary!
Here are some important dates to put in your diary for this Summer term.
| Date | Time | What’s on! |
| 8th July | 9-3pm | Monk Park Farm trip |
| 9th July | 3.30-4.30pm | Summer fair |
| 10th July | 1.10pm | Celebration Learning Day for Reception |
Wednesday 8th July – Monk Park Farm trip
Please ensure children arrive at school promptly as we need to stick to our bus schedule. We won’t be able to wait for children arriving late to school.
Please can children wear uniform top with suitable bottoms and trainers. They will need a backpack with their packed lunch inside as they will need to carry their own bag. Please remember we are a nut free school – no Nutella ect. and no fizzy drinks.
Stay and Play

Thank you to those Parents and Carers who enjoyed visiting for ‘Stay and Play’ and ‘Come and Read’ sessions this year. Next week will be our last Stay & Play session. The children have had a fantastic time showing you our lovely Reception classroom and outdoor area. We appreciate all of your support!
Attendance: Pupil Absences
If your child is absent, excess of 2 days, schools are required to complete a welfare check on the third day, this supports the safeguarding of the child. Ideally you will be contacted to arrange the visit, however, if school are unable to contact you, an unannounced visit will take place and a calling card provided. We have a statutory responsibility to safeguard all of our children and appreciate your support.
Uniform
Your child needs to wear school uniform so they feel part of the Newham Bridge family. This includes:
* Red jumper or cardigan * Grey skirt or trousers * White shirt or polo shirt * Black shoes (velcro).
A suitable coat (for all weathers)
Children are learning to put their cardigans and jumpers in trays independently if they don’t want to wear them and their coats on pegs, but it is really important that these items are labelled with your child’s full name.
PE Days

PE sessions have changed. PE will take place:
Monday and Thursday – Athletics – Preparing for Sports Day
Children need to come to school in their PE kits:
Black joggers / leggings, white polo shirt and black trainers
It is easier for girls to wear socks rather than tights so they can put on their socks and shoes easily. Please practise with your child putting their socks and shoes on independently.
Pupil of the Week

In Rainbow group, Pupil of the Week goes to Charlotte, for trying hard with her listening.

In Sunshine group, Pupil of the Week goes to Mabel, for encouraging her team during Sports Day.
