Welcome back to school! We hope you all had a lovely half term break and are ready for a busy and exciting Summer term 2!

In RE, our BIG question is ‘Which places are special and why?’ This week we had a visit from Reverend Mark who told us all about working in a church. We asked him some questions to help us learn and understand more about churches and why they are special to Christians. Then he told us the story of The Lost Son. We liked joining in with the sounds, actions and met Piggy Wiggy!

During music this week Mrs Collins has been teaching us about the different types of music from Australia. We even listened to people playing the didgeridoo and we enjoyed keeping the beat using lots of different instruments.

In maths we have been rotating and decomposing shapes to make shape pictures.

Important dates

Tuesday 24th June – Our school trip to Monk Park Farm. Please make sure the children are at school for 9am so we can leave school promptly. If you have chosen to provide your own packed lunch, please bear in mind that we are a nut free school. This includes things such as Nutella spread on sandwiches. Thank you to everybody who has contributed towards our trip.

Wednesday afternoons– Stay and Play. Each Wednesday at 2:20pm we would like to invite five parents into Reception to spend time with the children and see what we get up to! Please see a member of staff at the Reception door to sign up. To ensure every family has a turn, please only sign up for one spot this half term.

Requests

Due to the great British weather, please could you make sure your child brings a coat to school every day. We spend lots of time outdoors and have been caught in a couple of showers this week! Thank you.

Pupil of the Week – Congratulations to our Pupil of the Week this week – Ricky! Ricky has worked so hard this week and we have blown away with his amazing creations!
