Spring 2 – Week 3

This week we have worked extremely hard completing our assessments. We have tackled; spelling, SPaG, Reading and Maths papers alongside our Star reader quiz and publishing our recount letters in Writing. We have shown determination, resilience and an excellent attitude to learning whilst trying our very best!

In D&T we have been completing some research on key Mexican foods linked to our new topic Ancient Maya. We researched common flavours and food types and then planned a three course meal for guests. In coming weeks we will be carrying out some food tasting and even planning and cooking our own Mexican cuisine. Watch this space!

To finish off our week we have begun a new focus in P.E. … HEALTH AND FITNESS! This week focussed on the cardiovascular system and we learnt how blood is transported around our body and what happens to it when we exercise. Afterwards, we completed a circuit of cardio activities to get our hearts racing. Burpees, squat thrusters, mountain climbers, shuttle runs, bench hops … you name it. We did it!
