Autumn 1- Week 5

This week in our PVPG lessons we have completed our verbs unit. We worked on our knowledge of regular and irregular verbs and how we can identify which is which, verb phrases and phrasal verbs. The children had to work as a team to put a variety of verbs into the correct verb family and they were extremely successful. In spellings we have looked at compound words with a base and stem; we were introduced to Morpheus, our spellings mascot!

In maths this week we focused on finishing our addition and subtraction topic and completed the end of block test on today. The children worked their socks off and we look forward to sharing their scores and going through it next week!

Monday, we had a lovely afternoon starting with handwriting practice and then completed some lovely art skills work. We focused on blending watercolours to try and achieve a skin tone. Next week, we will complete some more interesting art inspired by Alexej von Jawlensky. In topic this week we looked at John Vaughan and Henry Bolckow and the journey they went on to give Middlesbrough the name Ironopolis. In PE we worked on our attacking and defending skills which we hope to apply to a game of football next week.

Our pupils of the week this week were Joey and Azan. Well done boys, keep up the amazing work, we are super proud of you!

We hope you have a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing you on Monday 🙂
