Nursery 10.10.25

Our topic is… Me and My Family

We have had a fun time in nursery this week finding out about Harvest and talking about what vegetables we like to eat at home. We used potatoes to paint, made funny Mr Potato heads and found out about harvesting different crops. We scooped out a pumpkin and made spiced play dough with Mrs Bell. We had a different snack on Thursday too! As well as our usual milk and fruit, we tried cucumber, radish, pepper and sweetcorn! Yummy!

Thank you for the donations to the local food banks too, we are so grateful for all of your help.

In phonics, we have been using our voices to make different noises and listening to the sounds of different percussion instruments. Do you like playing instruments at home?

In maths, we are still comparing sizes using the language big, small, biggest, smallest.

Skills we are working on this week are listening to adult instructions and we have our new tidy up areas. We are very impressed with how the children are helping us to look after the nursery. Thank you everyone!

Story of the Week:

Our story was ‘Pumpkin Soup’ by Helen Cooper. Cat, Squirrel and Duck make pumpkin soup but it doesn’t really go to plan!

Nursery Pupil of the Week

We are so proud of all our nursery children. This week, we would like to give our Pupil of the Week certificate to Nancy. You have had a lovely week in Nursery!

Nursery Attendance:

If your child is poorly or going to be absent from nursery, you can let us know or ring the office on 01642 816884. The new EYFS guidance emphasizes that regular, punctual attendance at nursery is crucial for a child’s learning, development, and well-being, as consistent attendance helps children settle and build strong relationships with staff and their peers.

Thank you for your support. We hope you have a good weekend! Mrs Huggins 🙂
