Homework Week Beginning 15.9.2025

Each week your child will have 6 assignments on Reading Plus to complete. These may be a mixture of visual skills, vocabulary or reading comprehension. Reading Plus are currently running a competition where the top 5 schools could be in with a chance of winning £150 of Amazon vouchers. Last year, we were fortunate enough to be one of the winners, could this happen again? Good Luck Year 6!

This week’s spellings are apply, hygiene, hyphen, identify, multiply, occupy, python, recycle, rhyme, supply. They have been placed on EdShed and are available to access. We recommend 5 minutes each day to enable success on a Friday morning and embed each spelling word in your child’s recall memory for written work.

Your child will still have access to TTRS, this week we will be checking your child’s accuracy in their Soundcheck. This is a very similar check to the MTC they completed in Year 4. How many children will achieve full marks, 25/25 this week?

Writing Homework this week is Young Writers Competition:

It’s time to dream big and write boldly with I Have a Dream! Whether you imagine a world run by kids, travel back to Ancient Egypt, picture their future career, wish for a kinder world, or explore a spooky nightmare, this engaging theme sparks creativity and enables you to improve your idea generation, composition, creative expression & writing for different purposes and audiences.

Last year, we had some amazing entries published and we even had one winner within the Top 5 Published fortunate to receive a huge bag of goodies!! Can we achieve this again?

Good Luck Year 6 🙂

Homework Club is on every Tuesday 3.20-4pm. If your child already has permission to walk home, they are able to walk home from Homework Club; however, if you child is collected normally at 3.20pm, they will also need collecting at 4pm. Please sign up at the school office to ensure we are aware of your child’s attendance.

All children are able to bring a small snack to keep them going e.g. fruit, biscuit bar or a packet of crisps. Please remember this is only a small snack and must be nut free. The focus of the session is for your child to complete all homework with the opportunity for teacher support 🙂
