Spring 2 week 4 – Friday 30.1.26

Week 4: a lively week!

Another fun week full of great effort, work and a lot of excitement!

In English we have published our writing based on the narrative Alma. We have done a great job focussing on speech sentences with accurate punctuation, sentences with multiple clauses, conjunctions, expanded noun phrases and a wide range of other great features. The children should be very proud and you (parents) can look forward to reading them at our open day later in the year!

In Maths, we we continued to look at how fractions have an equivalence to decimals and how to use knowledge of fractions (in thousandths) to help write and use decimals with 3 decimal places. If you’d like to learn more you can visit HERE.

In PE, we continued with Netball in spite of the cold. We focused on passing and moving into space and then shooting into the netball hoops! We also had another good session of Yoga, with Mighty Warriors.

Our exciting reading this week, was all about a sleepover – so we came dressed and ready for bed as we looked at the story – The Ancient Egyptian Sleepover. The children loved the bedtime stories, funny videos and made some wonderful predictions about what the story could be about, based only on the front cover. zzzzzzzzzz

NEXT WEEK IS NATIONAL STORYTELLING WEEK. Have a think about your favourite stories and bring your favourite book to school, to share with your class!

Well done to our Pupils of the week. They have had a fantastic week. Awesome!

Lucas in 2HB – has been a supportive and respectful classmate working with others and helping to develop their ideas.

Chloe in 2DJ – a wonderful, tolerant member of the class, always happy to support others.
