Spring 1 week 7 – Friday 20th February

A fabulous finish to the term!

In English, we completed our editing and publishing of our instructions to raid an Anglo-Saxon settlement. The children have worked incredibly hard to produce a set of instructions full of the features we expect to see and include lots of examples which show themselves as year 5 writers.

In Maths, we completed our unit of work all about equivalent decimals and percentages. The children showed great understanding and in the best examples the children were even able to show equivalences between fractions, decimals and percentages.

We completed our art work this week, focussing on monochromatic art. We learned more about creating texture (for realism), using doodles to create art, geometric lines and shapes and developing our own style of drawing with portraits of dogs. The work was wonderful and some of the children were even put in the Golden Book for their art!

WE HOPE YOU HAVE A LOVELY HALF TERM WEEK!

We return to school on Monday 2nd March!

During World book week – Fairy tale Week. Y5 will be focussing on Hansel and Gretel as our chosen story. Friday of World book week will be Dressing Up day (Fairy tale theme).
