Weekly News 23.2.24

Lovely to see everyone back and the nursery children have all had a lovely week. We started this week listening to the story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and they have been counting magic beans in the maths area and also comparing heights of Beanstalks, created a beanstalk collage and practised their cutting skills with the character pictures. They have enjoyed practising their ball skills in the hall and playing in the home area with new resources.

Important Notices

You may have heard about the World Book Day events happening in school with the other year groups. Nursery are taking part too.

7th March COMPETITION! ‘Decorate a potato’. Decorate a potato of a book character and bring it into school on the 7th March.

8th March – ‘Reading is Magic – Dress up day! Children can come to nursery dressed up as a book character for their morning or afternoon session.

PE

There have been changes with the PE sessions for afternoon children.

Morning Nursery PE is on Wednesday morning.

Afternoon Nursery PE is on a Friday afternoon.

No PE Clothing is required as the children take their socks and shoes off in the hall, but the children can wear black joggers or leggings on these particular days. Please can I ask that children who have their ears pierced, to have their earrings removed on these days otherwise they will be covered. Earrings should only be small studs.

We are learning Ball skills this term.

Come and Read

Wednesday morning 8.30am-8.45am

Wednesday afternoon 12.15pm – 12.30pm

This is a great opportunity for you to share a book with your child, developing their vocabulary and their excitement with books.

The nursery children will continue this term with brushing their teeth everyday with new toothbrushes, learning the importance of brushing their teeth.

Nursery Rhyme of the Week

The Nursery rhyme bag has been sent home with Poppie-Anne (Morning) and Myra (afternoon). We will look forward to hearing their favourite Nursery rhyme on Monday.

The children will be learning ‘If you’re Happy and you know it’ next week.

Star Pupil of the Week Achievements

Well Done Dottie (morning) who has received the ‘Star of the Week’ certificate, for just fitting right into our Nursery community she has really enjoyed her first week! Well Done Dottie!

Well Done Ocean (afternoon) who has received the ‘Star of the Week’ certificate, for playing lovely in the areas  Super effort Ocean!
