A superb week for Year 5!
In our Writing lessons, we have drafted our very own Non-Chronological reports about our Solar System this week. Next week, we will publish them focussing on our presentation, layout and handwriting.
Maths this week has seen us continue our Fractions learning – we have begun to add and subtract fractions, as well convert improper fractions to mixed numbers.
We have loved learning a new song in Music, identifying the rhythm and pulse of the song. Afterwards we successfully used the glockenspiels to add dimension to our song.
Topic has allowed us to delve deeper into the life of Henry VIII. We explored his marriages to his 6 wives and are looking forward to dramatising this next week as we pretend to be the wives of Henry.
On Friday morning we brought the museum to school! We had a great time exploring lots of historic artefacts loaned to us by the Dorman Museum to help with our understanding of the Tudor Times. We handled artefacts, predicted their uses, sketched and created brass rubbings, explored secondary sources to find fascinating facts and dressed up like a real Tudor!
