Weekly News 5.9.25

We would like to welcome our new reception class to Newham Bridge Primary School! We have had a lovely week getting to know each other and are so proud of how the children have settled so far!

This term the children will be learning about themselves and their families, but the first two weeks are teaching them about structure and settling into routines.

We will update our website each Friday and include some pictures of the children enjoying the activities in reception. Please ensure you have handed in your photo permission form so we know which pictures have consent to be added onto the school website.

Key Notices

The reception doors open at 8.40am and home time is 3pm. Please ensure your child has their school bag, water bottle and are wearing the correct uniform.

Uniform

Your child needs to wear school uniform so they feel part of the Newham Bridge family. This includes:

* Red jumper or cardigan * Grey skirt or trousers * White shirt or polo shirt * Black shoes (velcro)

A suitable coat (for all weathers) 

Please can you label each clothing item with their full name.

PE Days

PE will take place every Wednesday this term. Children need to come to school in their PE kits:

Black joggers / leggings, white polo shirt and black trainers

Weather changes

As the weather changes and turns to Autumn, please ensure that the children bring a coat to school. We spend time playing outside in most weathers and a sunny morning can turn into a chilly afternoon quickly! Please label their coat.

Tuesday 9th September

From 9am to 9.20am, there will be an important meeting in the reception classroom about supporting your child with their learning. We will be talking about supporting your child with phonics, reading, writing and sharing with you our general routines and expectations at Newham Bridge Primary School.

We are happy to share with you that our school is part of a language screening programme and a Mastering Number pilot, these help support all reception children with their learning. Information will be shared on Tuesday, but please, if any questions ask the Reception team.
