Another week and the children are learning to build up friendships and following the typical daily routines in the classroom. On Monday, it was lovely to see so many parents and carers turn up for our first ‘Come and Read’ session on Monday. The children loved sharing their favourite books. This week, we have been focusing on a phrase “Choose it, use it and put it away”, teaching children to tidy up independently, inside and in the outdoor areas. The children are starting to settle well in their phonic groups, learning a new sound each day, writing the sounds and learning ‘Fred talk’ – We are very proud with each one of them.

Key Notices
The reception doors open at 8.40am and home time is 3pm. Please ensure your child has their school bag, water bottle and are wearing the correct uniform.
Uniform
Your child needs to wear school uniform so they feel part of the Newham Bridge family. This includes:
* Red jumper or cardigan * Grey skirt or trousers * White shirt or polo shirt * Black shoes (velcro)
A suitable coat (for all weathers)
Children are learning to put their cardigans and jumpers in trays independently if they don’t want to wear them and their coats on pegs, but it is really important that these items are labelled with your child’s full name.
PE Days

PE will take place every Wednesday this term. Children need to come to school in their PE kits:
Black joggers / leggings, white polo shirt and black trainers
Weather changes
As the weather changes and turns to Autumn, please ensure that the children bring a coat to school. We spend time playing outside in most weathers and a sunny morning can turn into a chilly afternoon quickly! Please label their coat.
Come and Read

Every Monday, parents are invited to join their child on a morning to come and read a book. When the doors open at 8.40am, parents can pop into reception and share a book with their child until doors close at 9.00am.
Pupil of the Week

In Rainbow group, Pupil of the Week goes to Kate, for exploring the areas independently and enjoying the activities.

In Sunshine group, Pupil of the Week goes to Lottie,, for trying her best with everything she does in the areas.
