Weekly news 19.9.25

This week, the children have been interacting and developing new friendships in the different areas. They have been creating self portraits linking with ‘All About Me’ topic. In maths, they have been listening to mathematical stories, recognising and counting objects in books and developing their mathematical skills in the areas. Many children have enjoyed making different models with different materials, making bridges out of moblio, fly traps with the magnetic tiles and hunting boats with the wooden bricks – being very imaginative! The children have enjoyed their PE session with Mrs Short and learning music techniques with Mrs Collins. We are moving to Week 4 and the children are quickly learning the basic routines in the classroom. Well done everyone!

Great Imagination

Key Notices

The reception doors open at 8.40am and home time is 3pm. Please ensure your child has their school bag, water bottle and are wearing the correct uniform.

Uniform

Your child needs to wear school uniform so they feel part of the Newham Bridge family. This includes:

* Red jumper or cardigan * Grey skirt or trousers * White shirt or polo shirt * Black shoes (velcro)

A suitable coat (for all weathers)

Children are learning to put their cardigans and jumpers in trays independently if they don’t want to wear them and their coats on pegs, but it is really important that these items are labelled with your child’s full name.

PE Days

PE will take place every Wednesday this term. Children need to come to school in their PE kits:

Black joggers / leggings, white polo shirt and black trainers

Weather changes

As the weather changes and turns to Autumn, please ensure that the children bring a coat to school. We spend time playing outside in most weathers and a sunny morning can turn into a chilly afternoon quickly! Please label their coat.

Come and Read

Every Monday, parents are invited to join their child on a morning to come and read a book. When the doors open at 8.40am, parents can pop into reception and share a book with their child until doors close at 9.00am. Come and Read starts Monday 22nd September.
