Another brilliant week completed already!!! We can’t believe how quickly the time is going – it must mean we’re having a great time! 😉
In English this week, we began developing our understanding of ‘being’ and ‘having’ verbs. These can be quite tricky to understand, but using our knowledge of singular and plural nouns, we were able to identify the appropriate use of ‘is, am, are, was, were and will be’. As well as ‘have, has, had and will have’.
Maths – today we finished our unit of work on place value and the children completed a short test to demonstrate their understanding. They all did very well and showed they’d worked really hard and learned a great deal about rounding and partitioning numbers. If you need more help with rounding numbers visit HERE.
Science – In science we learned all about the movement of the planets in relation to the sun. We created our own mini solar systems and found out how long we’d have to wait for a birthday on some of the outer planets….basically we’re really lucky to be here on Earth. If you want to know more about the planets, visit the NASA website.
Art – we learned all about the remarkable work of artist Sarah Biffin, who was a celebrated miniaturist. Her tiny paintings are even more incredible due to the fact she was born without arm or legs, and learned to hold a paintbrush in her mouth! You can find out more about here HERE.

Well done this week to Millie in 2BH for a brilliant attitude to learning in school and to, Isla B in 2DJ for superb effort in her work both in and out of school! Well done to both of you!
Well done to all the wonderful readers this week, who managed to read at home in their own time. We’re very proud of you. Please could you support your child with their reading book , so that they are ready to quiz at the earliest opportunity.
Have a lovely weekend!
