Weekly News 6.2.26

Happy Reading has been the focus this week across the school. The children have listened to their favourite stories and had the opportunity to talk about their stories. In Maths this week, the children were introduced to 6 and 7, still developing the understanding of subitising and composition. In music, the children learned to make different sounds using their mouth, watching a video showing their mouth can be an instrument too. In writing, the children followed a dictated sentence and used their phonic knowledge to develop their words – Excellent writing!

Key Notices

Attendance: Pupil Absences

If your child is absent, for in excess of 2 days, schools are required to complete a welfare check on the third day, this supports the safeguarding of the child. Ideally you will be contacted to arrange the visit, however, if school are unable to contact you, an unannounced visit will take place and a calling card provided. We have a statutory responsibility to safeguard all of our children and appreciate your support.

Tuesday 10th February – 9am-9.20am

This Tuesday we would like to welcome you to our– Next Steps Learning Meeting in the Reception class. Thank you supporting your child to reach their full potential.

PE Days

PE sessions have changed. PE will take place:

Monday – Dance

Thursday – Mrs Short – Ball skills

Children need to come to school in their PE kits:

Black joggers / leggings, white polo shirt and black trainers

It is easier for girls to wear socks rather than tights so they can put on their socks and shoes easily. Please practise with your child putting their socks and shoes on independently.

Star Readers

Well done to Lilly-Lee, Freddie and Dottie for excellent reading at home.
