KEY STAGE ONE – 2.5.25

The children have settled back into our school routine and have had a fantastic week and they have tried incredibly hard.

In Maths, 1TS have been partitioning numbers into tens and ones, explored number tracks to 50 and progressed onto one more and one less to 50.

1MG and 1AC have been learning about statistics and exploring tally charts, tables and pictograms. We then progressed onto interpreting the data from the charts.

In English, 1TS have been sequencing a story using a story mountain, this allowed us to focus on each part of the story. We used the story mountain to help us write our beginning, middle and then end of our story.

1MG and 1AC have been exploring narratives and their setting description. We have explored how we can use our senses to describe a setting. In reading immersion we read a text and then drew a picture of the main character ‘Medusa’ using the description in the text.

Our topic this term is ‘Beach Explorers’ 1MG and 1AC have been exploring the seas around the UK and labeling them on a map.
