Reception this week learned about Remembrance Day and they created their own poppies and wore them proudly around the classroom. They watched a lovely animation video about hope and peace. It was also Anti-Bullying Week this week and we talked about being kind and helpful to each other and how being kind to a friend would make them feel happy. In maths, the children have being working with a partner and learning to listen to each and share. They have been counting and understanding ‘how many’ things are altogether. We would like to thank you for you kind donation for Children In Need and the children loved being very bright and cheerful!

Children in Need

Key Notices
Attendance: Pupil Absence
If your child is absent, for in excess of 2 days, schools are required to complete a welfare check on the third day, this supports the safeguarding of the child. Ideally you will be contacted to arrange the visit, however, if school are unable to contact you, an unannounced visit will take place and a calling card provided. We have a statutory responsibility to safeguard all of our children and appreciate your support.
Uniform
Your child needs to wear school uniform so they feel part of the Newham Bridge family. This includes:
* Red jumper or cardigan * Grey skirt or trousers * White shirt or polo shirt * Black shoes (velcro).
A suitable coat (for all weathers)
Children are learning to put their cardigans and jumpers in trays independently if they don’t want to wear them and their coats on pegs, but it is really important that these items are labelled with your child’s full name.
PE Days

PE sessions have changed. PE will take place:
Tuesday – Mighty Warriors
Thursday – Mrs Short ball skills – hand control
Children need to come to school in their PE kits:
Black joggers / leggings, white polo shirt and black trainers
It is easier for girls to wear socks rather than tights so they can put on their socks and shoes easily.
Come and Read

Every Monday, parents are invited to join their child on a morning to come and read a book. When the doors open at 8.40am, parents can pop into reception and share a book with their child until doors close at 9.00am.
Packed Lunches

EYFS packed lunch standards emphasize healthy, balanced meals with a variety of food groups, including at least one portion of fruit or vegetable, a source of protein, a starchy food, and a dairy or alternative, while avoiding nuts (allergies), sweets, and sugary drinks. Food like small sausages, grapes need to be sliced to allow them to eat easily. Children’s independence should be supported by ensuring they can open their sealed bags and containers.
Pupil of the Week

In Rainbow group, Pupil of the Week goes to Hanna for always being a good listener.

In Sunshine group, Pupil of the Week goes to Yumna for super maths work in class discussion.
Have a super weekend everyone!
