In science the children are exploring materials and how they are different. This week’s homework, the children have to match the objects with the materials. The children can also explore around their own home – looking for different objects and finding out what they are made from – identifying which are made from wood, fabric, glass, plastic or rubber.

Speaking and Listening Skill
Each week we are going to add an extra activity that can be done at home, supporting your child’s speaking and listening skills – developing their oracy (view the Parent support link talking about the importance of Oracy).

I went to the market
- Play ‘I went to the market and I bought a belt’.
- You child must repeat this and add another item (keep to same topic) – I went to the market and bought a belt and a jumper.
- Encourage taking turns
- When you forget , just start again (target to a number of items)
- Your list can be clothes, animals, toys, food…
