This week we would like your child to practise writing their name. We encourage Reception to write their name daily, listening to sounds rather than copying and tracing.
Speaking and Listening Skill
Each week we are going to add an extra activity that can be done at home, supporting your child’s speaking and listening skills – developing their oracy (view the Parent support link talking about the importance of Oracy).
I went to the market
- Play ‘I went to the market and I bought a belt’.
- You child must repeat this and add another item (keep to same topic) – I went to the market and bought a belt and a jumper.
- Encourage taking turns
- When you forget , just start again (target to a number of items)
- Your list can be clothes, animals, toys, food…
