Weekly news 18.10.24

A fantastic week in nursery this week, we are nearly at the end of term and the nursery children have settled so well in their new environment. We have continued with the Autumn theme this week and we focused on Autumn animals and hibernation. To start the week off, we had a lovely surprise in the Nursery outdoors. A small hedgehog came to visit us but it soon scuttled off. The children then listened to a story about a hedgehog preparing to hibernate – ‘It was a cold, dark night’. The children created lovely hedgehogs, winding wool around a hedgehog template and joining in other Autumn activities. Mrs Collins came to nursery and the children enjoyed singing and playing different instruments. In maths, we had been recognising numbers 1, 2, 3 – using our fingers and objects and listening to the story ‘Three little pigs’. The children also practised their pencil control, holding their pencil and controlling it along the lines. In PE, the children enjoyed playing games like ‘cups and saucers’ and ‘tag’ (Shark Vs Fish).
