YEAR 1 CLASS NEWS – 19.06.26

We have had a wonderful week in Year 1 and the children have worked incredibly hard!

In English, we have been exploring the story ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and we have finished our retell account of the story. The children have worked hard on this piece of writing.

In Maths, we have explored position and direction.

In topic, we have been comparing what activities people did in the past at the beach and what activities we still do today.

We had our visit to Saltburn and the children were amazing. We all thoroughly enjoyed the miniature railway journey. The children had fun building sandcastles, digging to link two streams of water together. We tried to find some crabs in the rockpools but they were a little shy. We ate our lunch in a lovely picnic area and had our ice cream. We had a play in the park before the steep climb back to the bus. The children were tired but a lovely day was had by all. Thank you for your continued support to allow these trips to go ahead.
