Week 4 – 15th May

We have had another brilliant week in Year Two. In our English lessons, we focused on reading this week through our immersion lessons. The first text we looked at was a recount of the events of VE day. The children took part in a street party and created flags. For the second text, we looked at Atlantis. The children became archaeologists searching for the hidden treasures, recreated some of the landmarks that they saw from the submarine and took a walk along the coral bridge. The children had a fantastic time.

In our Maths lessons, we have been learning about fractions. Over the week, we have learnt about three quarters and counting in fractions.

This half term, our topic is ‘Weather and Climate’. This topic explores the differences between weather and climate and how we predict and measure the weather each day.

As the seasons change, we would like to showcase all of the wonderful things that you do at home in Summer. Please send in any photos of the fun activities, adventures, days out, or special moments so that the children can share them with the class. The children really enjoy talking about their experiences and seeing what their friends have been doing.
