Week 2 – 12th June

We have had an amazing week this week. The children have all tried so very hard. On Wednesday, the children took part in their final Young Readers Event. Dapo, the author of Look up!, came to visit our school and worked with the children on drawing their own Superhero. After the event, the children all took home a new Dapo book to keep which was signed by the author himself.

In our English lessons, we have focused on a plot weave narrative. The children have started to write a setting description from the perspective of the Paper Bag Princess, from the story by Robert Munsch. In our Maths lessons, we have been learning about time. The children have worked on telling the time in five minute intervals.

Our topic next half term is Kings, Queens and Castles. This topic explores the history of castles in our local area and how monarchs have changed over time. We had a fantastic visit to Raby Castle, where the children had a wonderful time exploring the castle and its grounds.

Notices

As the seasons change, we would like to showcase all of the wonderful things that you do at home in Summer. Please send in any photos of the fun activities, adventures, days out, or special moments so that the children can share them with the class. The children really enjoy talking about their experiences and seeing what their friends have been doing.
