KS1 Class News 07.03.25

KS1 have had an amazing time celebrating ‘World Book Week’ in school this week. There has been an abundance of fun and exciting activities throughout school which the children have thrown themselves in to! The children have enjoyed the book fare, story hunts, crafting, book quizzes and even becoming authors themselves by creating a whole school story – it was amazing!

1MG have really enjoyed learning about their author ‘Oliver Jeffers.’ We have been writing some character descriptions this week about an alien that crashed into our school grounds in a rocket! We have also been exploring measure in our math lessons – exploring length and height. We have really enjoyed reading lots of Oliver Jeffers stories – Lost and Found, How to Catch a Star and Stuck!

1TS have thoroughly enjoyed learning about their author ‘Tom Percival’. We learned that most of Tom Percival’s books explore different feelings and emotions. We enjoyed reading ‘Ravi’s Roar’ and we written some character descriptions of Ravi when he turns in to a tiger! We used lots of exciting adjectives! We then used our art skills and created our own paper plate tiger using different materials. We read the story ‘Perfectly Norman’ and we talked about what makes each of us special and unique. We each made a feather and created Norman’s wings for our whole class display – it looks amazing!
