Class news 23.6.23

We’ve had a fantastic week in school this week. On Thursday, we visited the Tees Barrage as part of our topic ‘A river’s journey’. Throughout the day we visited the control tower, created our own river, became surveyors and ‘navis’, learnt more about the Tees and which part was man-made. In the afternoon, we went upstairs and visited the control station. Here we worked with Ian to control the CCTV cameras, learnt more about how they control the depth of the river, and we even got to open and close the lock! We ended the day learning more about the wildlife around the Tees and two grey male seals made an appearance to wave us off. Ask us how we know the difference between male and female grey seals. We had a lovely day and learnt a lot of interesting information about the Tees.

Well done to our Y4 children who represented our school at Quad Kids today. You all displayed great sportsmanship and determination.

Next week, we have sports day on Tuesday. Please come in your PE kit and a coloured t.shirt to match your team.
