Class news 6.1.23

Happy New Year to all of our families and welcome back to life in Year 4, we hope that you all had an enjoyable, relaxing break. Although we have only been back at school for three days we have certainly been busy! In Maths we have continued to work on our multiplication and division skills. We have seen a dip in the number of children who have been accessing Times Table Rock Stars (TTRS) at home over the holidays – please remind your children to go on this at home as this will help them improve their mathematical skills. Our new topic is Gods and Mortals and we have drawn sketch maps of Ancient Greece and worked together to match definitions during a new vocabulary task. In English we have listened to the myth ‘Odysseus and Cyclops’ and read a diary extract from the point of view of Odysseus. We will start to plan our own diary extracts next week!

We had a visit from PC Eric to talk to us about Internet Safety. It was very interesting and he will hopefully return to school in the future to share his expertise with parents.

Wishing you a restful weekend and see you all on Monday. Children in 2SB, don’t forget your swimming kits!

POW

In 2SB, Pearl has been awarded POW this week. She really impressed Mrs Barker with her effort. Fantastic!

In 2HH, the POW the week is Amina. She is a very helpful member of 2HH which is wonderful!
