Class news 3.3.23

Welcome back to our second half of Spring term. We’ve had a brilliant first week with lots of time and activities celebrating reading and World Book Day. On Wednesday, we welcomed parents and grandparents to our first ‘Come and Read’ session. It was lovely to share 20 minutes reading a story, discovering our school library or working together on a puzzle or wordsearch linked to reading. We hope you enjoyed your visit and hopefully, they will become a regular event. On Thursday, we started the morning voting for our favourite World Book potato from the staff. The winner will be announced in Friday’s assembly. A big thank you to all of the staff for their amazing entries! We also brought lots of fantastic creations into school and we had the opportunity to look at everyones in the hall. We spent the morning of World Book day listening to four different stories from all of the teachers in lower key stage 2. It was lovely hearing stories and spending time in different classrooms. This week, we also began our gymnastics lessons. In our first lesson, we learnt our warm up routine and worked on balancing. We can’t wait to learn more over the next four weeks. We also began our new topic, ‘Rocks, Relics and Rumbles’, more information can be found below. We’re looking forward to learning more about volcanoes, earthquakes and mountains. We ended the week with French on Duolingo and some guided meditation which was very much welcomed after such a busy week!

Have a lovely weekend everyone. We’ll see you on Monday.
